Synopsis: A 19th-century all-female royal guard for the Kingdom of Dahomey. The narrative of the movie centers on the group’s powerful general, Nanisca. These warriors have to repel the neighboring tribe’s attempts to subjugate them and capture ever-increasing numbers of people as slaves. The Agojie, who reside on the palace grounds, is devoted to King Ghezo and their sisterhood. They are giving up the prospect of getting married or having kids.
