The intriguing material is used to amusing but unavoidably inconsistent effect by Braff, who, equipped with his own screenplay, directs a drama that seems noticeably overlong and, for the most part, could use some severe cutting. But there’s no denying that A Good Person, for the most part, comes across as an engaging and occasionally captivating endeavour that benefits from its top-notch performances.
